Assembler assembles and packages parts, hardware, and materials to complete products or assemblies. Dalton has varied equipment to assemble.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Follow required safety and work procedures including standards, blueprints and/or wiring diagrams

·         Utilize hand tools and pneumatic tools to assemble, wire and install components and assemblies

·         Assemble and package parts, hardware and materials to complete products or assemblies at a level of output that minimizes production delays

·         Utilize quality checks to ensure all systems are set for correct operational sequencing and to meet product standards

·         Maintain a clean and orderly work area

·         May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the assembly process

·         Other responsibilities as assigned

Safety Responsibilities:

·         Comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures

·         Report any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their supervisor

·         Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any defective PPE

·         Participation in the site Safety and Health Program

Performance Expectations:

·         Safety, Quality, Accuracy, Timeliness, Reliability and Thoroughness of work performed

·         Gains the trust and respect of the shift supervisor, co-workers, and other employees

·         Develops working knowledge of the production environment and has ability to respond to change

·         Work to Continuously Improve the operations of the Department through Lean activities and Improvement suggestions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·         High school diploma or General education degree

·         Previous manufacturing experience is preferred

·         Position requires good mathematical ability

Working Conditions:

·         Work in a manufacturing plant environment with the risk of injury

·        Safety equipment must be worn when working with equipment in the shop

·        Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently life and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally life and/or move up to 75 pounds
